The SIDS Research Guild is delighted to present the 4th annual Strollin’ to Fight SIDS event, scheduled for Saturday, June 25 at the Newport High School track in Bellevue. This is a family-friendly 5k stroll or run around the track.

The funds raised will support groundbreaking research being conducted by Dr. Daniel Rubens and his colleagues at Seattle Children's Hospital. Dr. Rubens believes that SIDS could be related to an undetected, inner-ear dysfunction that makes it difficult for a baby to automatically rouse and reposition itself when it is having trouble breathing.

Dr. Rubens is advocating for more research that would lead to hearing tests being performed on babies within 48 hours of birth, which could detect the hearing dysfunction that puts babies at risk for SIDS.
