Dr. Stanley Stamm, a Seattle-area cardiologist, founded the Seattle Children’s Stanley Stamm Summer Camp in 1967. The camp provides a medically-supported one-week overnight camp experience in an outdoor wilderness setting for children ages 6 to 14, who have terminal or chronic medical illnesses. Campers accepted to the Stanley Stamm Summer Camp are not able to attend other camps due to their complex medical needs. The camp serves about 100 children each summer. The camp is staffed with 200 volunteers, leading a variety of programs including sports and games,
swimming, boating, fishing, horseback riding, arts and crafts, music, archery and nature. The annual Stanley Stammpede fundraiser allows us to subsidize all campers by charging a low fee and providing scholarship assistance upon request.
